<description>Title: Silicon Shield: A synthetic biology platform that enhances crop stress resistance using plant silicon transporters Description: This project uses Nicotiana benthamiana as a model plant for verification and constructs an efficient artificial gene pathway for silicon absorption, transport, and deposition based on the standardized approach of synthetic biology. By heterologously expressing highly active silicon transporter proteins from plants, the project enhances tobacco's ability to enrich silicon in soil/water and deposit it in cell walls. Utilizing the physical reinforcement, antioxidant, and osmotic stress resistance properties of silicon, the project aims to achieve multi-dimensional enhancement of crop resistance to drought, salt, high temperatures, and diseases.
