<description>Title: Rewrite Carbon Future: We Give Waste Plastic a New Life Description: This video introduces our iGEM project addressing two major challenges: grain consumption in traditional biomanufacturing and massive unused ethylene glycol from waste plastics. We genetically engineer E. coli to break down ethylene glycol from discarded plastic, reconstruct its TCA cycle to produce high-value itaconic acid used in batteries, eco-resins and pharmaceuticals. An AI assistant optimizes metabolic pathways to screen high-yield strains efficiently. Our research establishes a sustainable closed-loop plastic recycling system, turning carbon waste into eco-friendly chemicals and reshaping the circular carbon future with synthetic biology and artificial intelligence.
