        <description>Title: AAAgri | From Waste Oil to Sustainable Crop Protection Description: Can waste oil become a new resource for sustainable agriculture? Agricultural pests threaten crop yield, food security, and sustainable farming, while conventional pesticides can create environmental and ecological burdens. AAAgri explores a synthetic biology approach to greener crop protection. We engineer the oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica to convert waste lipids into chrysanthemic acid, a key precursor of pyrethrin-based insecticides. Our strategy follows three “A” pillars: Accurate, Alternative, and AI-assisted. We construct the chrysanthemic acid pathway, optimize the MVA pathway to enhance IPP/DMAPP supply, and use AI-assisted protein engineering together with molecular simulation and experimental screening to improve key rate-limiting enzymes. By combining waste-lipid valorization, microbial engineering, and AI-assisted optimization, AAAgri aims to provide a new biomanufacturing strategy for sustainable agriculture and green pest management.
