IZJU-China: PhysiCell simulation 1 (2026)

This is a visualization of PhysiCell simulation, showing the first 5 days of treatment with wild-type (WT) engineered bacteria. This video shows a 2D map of cell distribution. At the center is a circular tumor mass composed of a heterogeneous mixture of cells (tumor cells, stromal cells, and various immune cells). Two red diagonal lines represent blood vessels, through which Bifidobacterium longum (the engineered bacteria) enter the microenvironment. In summary, under the WT treatment, the tumor initially shrinks before reaching a plateau, while IFN-γ accumulates within the tumor mass. While the WT treatment demonstrates some efficacy in the early stages, its therapeutic impact appears to diminish over time. This video will be used in https://2026.igem.wiki/izju-china/.
