        <description>Title: EcoScent Bloom Description: This short video is a fun explainer about our project on biosynthesizing musk. It kicks off by talking about why musk is so special — it's been a super valuable fragrance and traditional medicine forever, and it naturally comes from the scent glands of male musk deer. Then it dives into the problem: over-hunting, the challenges of farming these animals, and illegal poaching have caused musk deer populations to keep plummeting. The big highlight, though, is our green, efficient solution — we're using Candida tropicalis as the chassis, editing genes to tune the P450 enzyme system so it cranks out omega-hydroxy fatty acids, then running an extracellular lactonization reaction to turn those into isoambrettolide, a natural musk substitute. Long story short, it's a way more sustainable approach that completely avoids hurting the deer and sidesteps the whole resource shortage issue. Official Page</description>
