TJT_Seoul 2026 connects these two problems with CPS — a soil amendment that combines processed citrus by-products with the laccase CotA. Citrus material supports the physical soil environment, while CotA acts on wildfire-derived phenolic compounds, with activity that remains detectable in CPS soil after several days. CotA is produced in engineered E. coli and applied as a protein fraction; no living engineered organism is released. CPS turns waste into a resource for recovering land.
