<description>Title: Secure the Future, Capture the Cure Description: In an ICU, a culture takes 48 to 72 hours, and a full report four to seven days. Treatment starts on a guess, and every wrong guess selects for resistance. Project Capture turns one molecule into two tools. Pseudomonas aeruginosa coordinates its virulence with 3-oxo-C12-HSL. System 1 gives E. coli the pathogen’s own LasR receptor, so the signal switches on sfGFP. System 2 uses an engineered retron to make the Cb-2 aptamer inside the cell, binding the signal so the message never arrives. Our retron-Cb-2 extract reduced swarming motility by 19%, pyocyanin by 26% and biofilm formation by 34%. We also built CAPTURE-Screen, a bench-top fluorescence reader costing US$54 to US$161 instead of thousands, in two versions anyone can copy; LasReader, a browser-based analysis platform; and three models. Alongside the lab work, we ran a nationwide survey, interviewed clinicians, held 17 outreach events across Taiwan, and worked with 11 iGEM teams.
