        <description>Title: Unlocking the Code of Dental Caries Prevention: An Enzymatic Strategy Targeting Oral Biofilm Description: This project develops a multi-enzyme system targeting the exopolysaccharide matrix of dental plaque biofilms. By recombinantly expressing α-1,3-glucanase and α-1,6-glucanase in E. coli, the team aims to degrade the structural glucans of Streptococcus mutans biofilms. In vitro biofilm models are treated with enzyme cocktails and evaluated via HPLC, TLC, SEM, and staining assays. The system is designed for integration into mouthwashes or degradable oral films. Future directions include enzyme engineering, multi-enzyme synergy optimization, and smart delivery systems.
