Title: NemaKlear: Uncovering the Hidden Threat Beneath the Soil Description: Beneath the soil lies an invisible threat: plant-parasitic nematodes. These tiny organisms can cause severe crop damage long before visible symptoms appear, making early detection a major challenge for agriculture. Meet NemaKlear, an innovative biosensing project developed by NKU-China for iGEM 2026. Inspired by nature, we aim to engineer yeast to recognize ascarosides, chemical signals released by nematodes, and convert them into visible color changes. From receptor engineering and genetic circuit design to computational modeling, prototype development, and human practices, our team explores how synthetic biology can make nematode detection more accessible and informative. Through scientific research, field investigations, and public engagement, we strive to connect laboratory innovation with real agricultural needs. From society, back to society. Join us on our journey to make invisible threats visible and bring science closer to the fields where it matters most. Wiki | Official Page
