        <description>Title: Compute, Discover, Degrade ZEN: Marine-Derived ZHD-NR7 Enzyme Mined via Multi-Omics &amp; Computational Biology Description: Zearalenone (ZEN) produced by moldy grains seriously disrupts livestock endocrine systems and causes massive economic losses and food waste. Physicochemical detoxification methods will introduce extra toxic substances, while traditional biological enzyme screening faces long cycles, high costs and poor efficiency. To tackle this problem, NJTECH-CHINA-A 2026 team built a complete computational mining system based on marine metagenomics, network toxicology and multi-omics. We clarified the toxic mechanism of ZEN on pigs, and combined HMM model screening, structural conservation verification and molecular docking to screen potential ZEN-degrading enzymes. We also simulated the catalytic mechanism of ZEN ring-opening degradation to guide rational enzyme modification, and developed an integrated online platform for one-stop enzyme screening and modification. Compared with traditional screening that takes months, our computational workflow completes candidate enzyme screening within only 72 hours, greatly lowering experimental costs and expanding enzyme resources. Subsequent wet experiments including vector construction, heterologous expression, protein purification and HPLC detection verified that our novel enzyme ZHD-NR7 possesses outstanding ZEN degradation activity. Our team carried out field investigations in communities, feed factories, agricultural academies and agricultural innovation parks. We also delivered biology popular science lectures to local teenagers to spread synthetic biology knowledge. This project cuts grain waste, safeguards feed and food safety, and promotes sustainable agriculture, corresponding to SDG 2 Zero Hunger and SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production.
