<description>Title: PestiSense Description: Pesticide contamination poses a serious threat to public health, yet current detection methods remain expensive and time-consuming. In this video, we introduce PestiSense, a solution developed by CCA-SanDiego that aims to make pesticide detection faster and more accessible. Our team developed and experimentally evaluated a cell-free, DNA-based fluorescent aptasensor to detect rotenone and malathion. Through experimental testing, we explored a promising approach toward practical, on-site pesticide monitoring. In our presentation video, we provide an overview of our wet lab research, experimental findings, future directions, human practices, and safety considerations of our project.
