As for the Arizona iGEM team, those networks are visible everywhere from desert ecosystems to the living tissues we study in the lab. Anginuity is exploring how to build better vascular systems for organoids by combining intestinal tissue with recombinant E. coli that produce human vascular endothelial growth factor (hVEGF), alongside a machine learning algorithm to evaluate the resulting vascular networks.
