        <description>Title: Synthetic Biology Dressing for Diabetic Foot Healing Description: Every 20 seconds, one person worldwide faces amputation due to diabetic foot ulcers. High glucose damages nerves and blood vessels, causing chronic wound infection and non-healing, affecting over 10 million patients in China and 537 million diabetics globally. Powered by synthetic biology, team LUT-CHINA 2026 presents an innovative wound healing solution. We constructed engineered E. coli cell factories to produce high-purity, batch-consistent lobetyolin and calycosin-7-glucoside, eliminating the component fluctuation of traditional plant extraction. The dual active ingredients synergistically promote angiogenesis, accelerate epithelial growth, and exert anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, targeting the root causes of refractory diabetic foot wounds. We further developed a four-layer precision dressing loaded with the dual molecules: a soft silicone layer to prevent adhesion and reduce secondary injury; a self-assembled hydrogel layer for directional drug release; an alginate layer to absorb exudate and trap bacteria; an outer PU membrane for waterproofing and balanced breathability.
