<description>Title: Frida: one drop, many answers Description: Seven thousand rare diseases, most of them genetic, and a newborn screening that covers only a few. Frida asks whether being rare must also mean being hard to detect. We built a cell-free CRISPR-Cas13a test that lights up when a mutation is present and screens several variants at once. It rests on three pillars: Neith, which weaves the platform in the lab, from guide design to a standardised part collection for multiplex assembly; Diana, the software that designs the guide RNAs; and Athena, our Human Practices work, which keeps the people behind each diagnosis in view.
