Title: "AEGIS Shields Waterways Against Sewage" Description: Sewage overflows are a significant problem in the U.S. and many other countries, creating threats to people and wildlife by spiking the levels of harmful bacteria in the water. Our team aims to address this issue by engineering S. meliloti to produce toxins that target diarrheagenic E. coli. Intended for deployment within a mechanical enclosure that maximizes toxin efficacy, AEGIS offers a targeted approach to reducing bacterial contamination while protecting human and environmental health. AEGIS also provides a foundation for future bioremediation projects targeting other bacterial contaminants. Wiki | Official Page
