AEGIS (Artificially Engineered Growth Inhibition Strain), a non-pathogenic engineered bacterial strain that pre-colonises surfaces, preventing the growth of harmful bacteria. Growth of the resident strain itself is held under a three-axis kill switch, each axis attacking a different thing that makes a biofilm a biofilm: Genetic, Chemical and Mechanical.
