Title: Dual-Armor Description: Chronic wounds are frequently complicated by Staphylococcus aureus infections, whose biofilms hinder bacterial eradication and contribute to persistent infection and delayed healing. Conventional treatments, including debridement and antibiotics, may fail to fully eliminate biofilms, highlighting the need for integrated therapeutic strategies. Dual-Armor aims to address this challenge through a responsive wound dressing that combines biofilm disruption, targeted antibacterial activity, and wound healing. Two engineered bacterial chassis, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Escherichia coli Nissle 1917, communicate through naringenin-mediated signaling to coordinate these complementary functions. Integrated into a multilayer dressing with freeze-dried bacterial layers and semipermeable membranes, the system is designed for practical local application. Wiki | Official Page
