Waterloo iGEM 2026 investigates CsgC-based inhibition of curli assembly, with the long-term goal of complementing treatment while preserving the microbiome. In this 15-minute presentation, we share our construct designs, laboratory methods and results, protein and kinetic modelling, and a metagenomic screen of gut bacterial genomes. We show how stakeholder feedback and public engagement shaped our project, and outline the next experiments for controlled protein delivery, activity and containment.
