        <description>Title: Carbotex —— Weaving Ecological Agri-waste into Valued Ecopolymers Description: Carbotex is OUC-Haide’s synthetic biology project for turning underused crop residues into high-value, sustainable biomaterials. Through a two-stage microbial platform, straw is first converted into fermentable glucose and xylose, which are then used by an engineered fungal chassis to produce polymalic acid (PMA), a biodegradable and highly functionalizable biopolymer. By further functionalizing PMA, we explore its potential as a bio-based adhesive, creating a new link between agricultural waste valorization and sustainable material manufacturing. Carbotex aims to transform renewable carbon that might otherwise be wasted into useful products for a more circular and low-carbon future. Official Page</description>
