<description>Title: PurrFit Description: Feline obesity, driven jointly by overfeeding, limited activity, and human care routines, has become a growing “One Health” challenge among pet cats. To address this, our project PurrFit proposes a synthetic biology strategy that combines microbiome engineering with digital care. We employ MetaEdit to engineer Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a common gut-associated bacterium, to produce bile salt hydrolase (BSH), which will help regulate bile acid metabolism and lipid-related pathways. Meanwhile, we design an FGF21-ABD fusion protein to improve the stability of FGF21-based metabolic signals and support healthier energy use. As an auxiliary module, a Pet AI Agent could provide personalized feeding and exercise suggestions for owners. By integrating feline health, biosafe microbial engineering and owner behavioral guidance, PurrFit is expected to serve as a cat-focused but transferable framework for companion animal health.
