Description: Trichinellosis is a serious parasitic infection that can cause long-term health consequences, particularly among people who consume wild meat, including hunters and their families. Despite the availability of established testing infrastructure, some hunters still neglect testing, putting themselves and others at risk. This presentation video provides an overview of the trichinellosis problem, the limitations of current testing methods, and our proposed solution. We introduce our laboratory techniques and experimental results involving Bacillus subtilis spore surface display technology. We also explain how we integrated Human Practices into our experimental planning and product design, highlighting the central role of education and public engagement in our project. Finally, we introduce iGEM Intelligence Machine, a new software tool designed to facilitate comprehensive searches across iGEM project wikis, making past research and innovations more accessible to the iGEM community.
