Title: AI-Powered Multifunctional Fusion Protein Design Platform for Skincare and Medical Aesthetics Description: Skincare and medical aesthetics present needs for multifunctional biomaterials. Our team built PeptiCraft, an AI-powered web platform that proposes recombinant fusion proteins based on users’ chosen product formats and functions, together with recommended expression strategies. Refined over iterations, the pipeline screens 849 million public protein sequences through 9 filtering rounds, with safety applied as a hard veto. Negative controls help assess screening performance. The deployed platform supports screening within a 20.2-million-peptide search space and provides 496 precomputed candidate constructs across four functional directions. As a proof of concept, we tested an antioxidant silk-fibroin construct for a topical moisturizer. Preliminary antioxidant and cell-based assays supported initial feasibility and informed model improvement. Our Human Practices work explored societal needs and ethical questions around beauty and AI through outreach and communication. Together, these efforts support computational design and early-stage evaluation of multifunctional protein biomaterials. Wiki | Official Page
