Title: Novel PFAS Biosensor: Examining Gene Upregulation in PFOA exposed E. coli Description: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances are a group of chemicals that have been classified as carcinogenic and are nearly impossible to break down naturally. Current detection methods require sophisticated laboratory equipment and can cost thousands of dollars per sample. That is why we at Team HS-Kentucky are developing a novel biosensor using E. coli for quick and easy PFAS detection. We hope that our solution can help more people detect PFAS in their environments and take proper precautions to mitigate their harmful effects. Wiki | Official Page
