        <description>Title: DUAL-ARMOR——THERAPEUTIC PLATFORM FOR CHRONIC WOUND HEALING Description: A diabetic foot ulcer is never just a small wound. It can mean months of dressing changes, infections that keep coming back, and bacteria hiding inside biofilms that antibiotics can't reach. Dual-Armor is our answer: a living therapeutic built from two engineered bacteria that work as a team. Engineered Staphylococcus epidermidis stands watch on the wound. When it picks up the quorum-sensing signals of Staphylococcus aureus, it releases DspB to tear down the biofilm, then sends a naringenin signal to its partner. Engineered E. coli Nissle 1917 takes it from there — killing S. aureus with the lysin LsP22 while releasing hEGF to help the tissue close. Sense. Break. Kill. Heal. For safety, the bacteria stay locked inside a semipermeable wound dressing. Only the therapeutic molecules pass through. Today we target chronic wounds with S. aureus infection. Swap the sensing and therapeutic modules, and the same strategy could take on other biofilm diseases — chronic lung infections among them.
