Title: ProteaSign: A Protease-Based Chronic Wound Diagnostic Description: ProteaSign is a quantitative electrochemical device made to help detect when chronic wounds are failing to heal. It works by measuring the activity of two destructive protease classes in the wound: matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and neutrophil serine proteases. Our video follows the problem, looking at the current delayed, subjective wound assessment methods and showing our solution, a simple point-of-care device that uses peptides to report the protease classes' activity separately. It aims to give clinicians an earlier indication of whether treatment is working and help prevent severe infection and amputation. Wiki | Official Page
