Title: BioThetis: When science answers to the PFAS problematic Description: For years, PFAS pollution stayed hidden, until residents and associations brought it to light. Now, science has to answer! We are iGEM Lyon 2026, and our project BioThetis goes after TFA, the smallest and most persistent PFAS. Our idea: a protein that binds TFA and anchors itself to cellulose, so water can flow through a filter and leave the pollutant behind. We also tested an enzyme to see whether biology can break the carbon-fluorine bond. Everything relies on purified proteins in closed cartridges, so no living organism ever touches the water, and we aim at industrial outflows first, where the pollution starts. In this video, we take you through our engineering cycles, our safety choices and our results, including what did not work. We also tell you how 49 exchanges with residents, experts and authorities changed our project five times, and what comes next. Wiki | Official Page
