Title: Isoambrettolide: Engineering Candida tropicalis for Macrocyclic Musk Biosynthesis Description: This is our iGEM 2026 presentation video. Isoambrettolide, a precious macrocyclic musk, faces supply limits from natural sources and environmental drawbacks of chemical synthesis. Our team engineered Candida tropicalis to produce isoambrettolide from palm oil feedstock, by rewiring the β‑oxidation pathway, screening desaturase and cytochrome P450 enzymes, and combining in-vivo fermentation with in-vitro enzymatic cyclization. This video covers our background, modular design, wet-lab results, limitations, integrated human practices, science communication, sustainability and safety evaluation. We iterated our project based on feedback from musk farmers, academic advisors and industry stakeholders. Wiki | Official Page
