<description>Title: Temperature-Controlled Smart Odor-Degradation System Based on Engineered Microorganisms Description: Human body odor mainly originates from volatile fatty acids produced by skin microorganisms decomposing sweat, among which isovaleric acid is one of the key odor causing molecules. Current deodorization methods primarily include fragrance masking, chemical bacteriostasis, and physical adsorption, which generally suffer from drawbacks such as temporary relief only, short lasting effects, or potential health risks. This project proposes an innovative synthetic biology based strategy to directly degrade odor sources at the molecular level, aiming to develop an efficient, long lasting and safe deodorization approach. Engineered microbial strains are constructed with enhanced fatty acid metabolic capacity to achieve efficient degradation of isovaleric acid. Meanwhile, a temperature sensitive gene regulatory system is introduced to inactivate engineered bacteria under low temperature conditions, preventing their environmental leakage and improving biosafety.
