        <description>Title: ByeByeBlade: Keeping Green Energy Green Description: Wind turbines have an operational lifetime of around 20-25 years, but what happens once that time is up? While much of the structure can be recycled, the blades themselves (glass fibers locked in an epoxy resin), are far harder to process. With ever-increasing numbers of wind turbines being decommissioned and replaced, there is still no effective circular route for the blades that end up as waste. The DTU BioBuilders are tackling this problem with a three-step method: shredding the blades, loosening the epoxy resin through mild solvolysis, and applying engineered laccases and UPOs to cleave the crucial bonds in the epoxy resin network. This turns existing blade waste into a feedstock, enabling the recovery of high-value chemicals that industry can use again. Wiki | Official Page</description>
